500 Calorie Diet Plan

You are desperate to lose weight. In fact, you are willing to try any crash diets you can get your hands on. You have heard of the 500 calorie diet and want to try it yourself.

Losing your extra weight is always on your mind. You have tried some slimming pills, but still you cannot seem to lose your extra pounds off and keep it off. So, the 500 calorie diet is one diet you want to start now.

The 500 calorie diet is the lowest calorie diet you can have, but it is still very popular among people who wants to lose weight real quickly. The 500 calorie diet is an extreme form of dieting, it takes a lot of risks. So be really careful before you go into it. You must visit your doctor first and get approval before jumping into this kind of crash diet.

Low calorie diet means that you are not allowed to eat more than 1200 calories per day. You can lose weight quickly with low calorie diets. But it can be dangerous to your health, so it is advisable to plan your 500 calorie diet with a professional dietician or nutritionist before you start. Is the 500 calorie diet right for you or notc

The 500 calories per day diet may be right for some people, but it really depends on the following factors: gender, activity level, height, body type and overall health and well being.

A very low calorie diet may do you more harm than good. If you are craving more calories, this will in turn affect your metabolism. Where will your body get the energy it needsc It may actually get energy from your muscle mass, since there are no food reserves available. When this happens, it can be highly detrimental to your health, because the proper way to lose fat is to gain muscle mass, not take it away.

On the other hand, overweight people who will try to consume only 500 calories a day will almost likely be starving themselves. Since the body is more used to taking in more than 2000 calories per day or more, then the sudden drop of calorie intake will signal your body into starvation mode. In this way, the body’s metabolism will slow down to conserve energy.

But if you are able to go on with the 500 calorie diet, your body will get used to taking in fewer calories. That means if you will go back to your old habits eating more than 2000 calories per day, you will have a sudden gain in weight, which is even more weight than if you did not go on a low calorie diet in the first place.

Men and women have different ideal calorie intake. An average woman may need only 1200 to 1300 calories per day, while an average man may need from 1500 to 1600 calories per day. Remember that it is very important to consult your doctor before starting any diet, especially if it involves extreme numbers. You can specifically determine your ideal daily calorie intake by using a bmr/amr calculator. You will find how many calories you need to take daily to be healthy. From this calorie level, take 500 calories away, and this will be your ideal number of calories to take in daily for you to lose weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone give me a 500 calorie diet plan?
i want a good diet plan that includes only 500 calories per day and really low fat. If possible include some pakistani or indian foods.

    • ANSWER:
For a diet that skimpy you could just boil up a dozen eggs or so and keep them in the refrig – and eat 5 of them a day. Eggs are probably the most complete food – and they’re really unbelievably cheap.

500 calories is not a diet you can do for very long – it’s far too few calories. Just to illustrate – after the 2nd War was over, occupied Germany was on a 1500 to 1800 calorie die a day – and that’s considered a starvation diet. They were not doing very well on that few calories.

But that’s three times your proposed diet. Your diet is much like fasting.

need a week long 500 calorie diet plan PLEASE!!?
need a week long 500 calorie diet plan PLEASE!!

I asked about this in another question but need more info… PLEASE

I eat less than that now!!!! and I did NOT gain weight doing it either. but my body is plataueing and i need a different diet plan for like a month to trick my body again…

    • ANSWER:
You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to compensate for lowered calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

500 Calorie Diet Plan: To those who have tried it, how well would it work for an overweight person?
I’m overweight and I want to try that diet plan. I already don’t eat much but I’m sure I eat more than 500 calories per day.

From anyone who has tried it, how well does it work? How fast did the weight loss start for you?

I know everyone’s body is different, but I’m curious as to how it has worked for others.

    Thanks x
It’s not like I expect to lose ten pounds a week or anything. I was just wondering if it works.
And I don’t gorge myself on food.. I rarely eat junk food and I haven’t eaten anything in 35 hours. So I think I can manage the 500 calorie thing since I’m not even hungry right now.

    • ANSWER:
      I’m not a doctor, but I don’t think that’s healthy.

How well will the HCG drops work with out the 500 diet plan?
I have been trying my best to stick to the 500 calorie plan, but I haven’t been successful. I’ll be good with the diet for half the day, and then mess up durning the day, because i am so hungry. I know I won’t have the same results as if I was doing good. Have any of you done this diet without the strict diet and it actually worked?

    • ANSWER:
Anna the 500 calories per day is the only reason the diet does work for the few that are able to actually stick to it.
The drops do not contain any hcg since it is illegal to sell the hormone without a prescription. See the attached article.

A much healthier and successful plan is to eat 1200 calories per day of whole fresh foods. You can eat lots of high fiber foods that are low in calories so they help to satiate the appetite.
      Good luck.

500 calorie diet plan? And exercise routine? Lose 40 pounds?

    • ANSWER:
500 calories intake isn’t enough to support any sort of useful exercise program. Ask any runner or cyclist (like me!) who’s bonked (run out of carbohydrate fuel) 10 miles from home.

Without any glycogen reserves, you cannibalize muscle and organ tissue because your body can’t convert fat fast enough to support ALL of your daily requirements. Not to mention that the biggest user of carbohydrate fuel is your brain. Without it, you’ll be spacey and ask questions like this. Do it long enough, the brain damage becomes permanent.

Realistically and safely, losing 40 pounds should take about 6 months to a year. Eat a LITTLE less, exercise more. You’ll be much happier with the results, and more likely to keep the weight off.

what happens when you eat a bad meal on the hcg 500 calorie diet?
i ate some chocolate and cheesy noodles and im on this 500 calorie hcg diet plan what happens now?

    • ANSWER:
Your body will try to pull itself out of starvation mode.
Any weight you have lost so far is nothing more than food and waste that was in your system. Next you will lose another 3-4 lbs as glycogen (stored energy) is depleted from the liver and muscle tissue. Also the water connected to sodium can be another few pounds. So you may lose up to 15 pounds and not an ounce of it is stored body fat. If you are going to continue with this dangerous protocol, get a tape and measure arms, legs, waist and hips. You will definitely lose inches in the waist only because the intestines are now empty.
There isn’t any real hcg hormone in over the counter drops anyway.
Even the amount of hormone in the injections is too low to increase fertility.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission issued seven warning letters on Tuesday December 6, 2011 to companies that sell the over-the-counter products, noting they have not been approved by the FDA for weight loss. The drops do not contain hcg hormone but similar synthetic peptide amino acids. This is the first step in terminating the sale of the ineffective drops.

Finally the Food and Drug Administration has taken steps to stop these possibly harmful products.
Anyone that lost weight on the diet protocol only did because they were eating 500 calories a day and in starvation mode. The drops legally cannot contain any real hcg anyway. Most conscientious pharmacies have already pulled them from the shelves and others are selling down.
The side effects of the hcg diet protocol are the side effects of malnutrition. These include headache, hair loss, interruption of menstrual cycles, fatigue, feeling lightheaded, disorientation, stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
Something to think about. One of the side effects of properly using the hcg injections to increase fertility is weight gain. So how can the hormone cause weight loss other than malnutrition?
I know you hate to hear it but a healthy diet and exercise work every time.

Hi, I’m a sixteen-year-old girl. I’m currently 154 pounds and 5’4. I started birth control to clear up acne and ended up gaining about 10 pounds. What diet plan should I follow to loose twenty pounds by January? (The date is currently Nov. 12, 2011).

Right now I’m following a 1,500 calorie diet and have so far dropped about a pound. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
Follow a healthy diet. Avoid all types of junk foods and consume lots of green vegetables and fresh fruits. Don’t eat large meals. Instead, divide your daily food intake into six small meals spaced evenly throughout the day. Drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep. A moderate exercise program combined with this type of healthy eating will get rid of those extra pounds in no time.

What are some good meal plans for a 500 calorie a day diet?
I’m starting to consume 500 cal a day.I wanted to get some ideas for meal plans, and also some advise on how to gain muscle on this type of diet?

    • ANSWER:
At 500 calories a day your body will likely go into starvation mode, slow your metabolism and actually defeat the purpose of reducing calories in an attempt to lose weight. It’s not a healthy idea. If you are trying to lose weight, try a diet more in the 1000-1100 calorie range at least.

I personaly did Nutrisystem for the last 8 months. Their men’s diet program had me averaging 1300-1400 calories a day, the women’s program called for about 1100-1200 calories a day. I lost 70 pounds in 8 months with little change in physical activity.

Before you really consider doing a 500 calorie a day diet I suggest you discuss with your physician.

I have a low-calorie diet plan, is this a good idea?
I plan on consuming around 500-800 calories daily, I’ll burn off about 200 from walking, and I’ll continue this for a week or two.
My boyfriend doesn’t want me to do this, he says It’s unhealthy but I think it’s a good idea. It’s almost swimsuit season and I want to actually look ‘good’ in a bikini!

I’m 18, about five foot four inches and currently 120lbs.
My boyfriend is only complaining about my diet because the last one I did brought me to the brink of Annorexia where I found it difficult to pull back. I had only begun that first diet because during my three week stay in the psych hospital, I gained twelve pounds which sunk my self-esteem.
    Is my boyfriend simply overreacting?

    Extra info:

The diet I’ll be following contains products from Special K. I’ll have a protein shake in the morning, Protein water inbetween, a protein meal bar for lunch, and protein water for the rest of the day.
I’ll combine this, with exercise and the walking I do to-and-from classes at school.

    • ANSWER:
This is an extremely bad idea. First of all, you are normal weight, close to being underweight in fact. You do not need to lose weight at all.

Second of all, by only eating 500-800 calories a day, there’s no way you’ll be able to get all the nutrients your body requires. You’ll likely feel weak, get depressed from lack of trytophan (from food), be irritable, have trouble focusing and eventually get very sick. These diets are extremely ill-advised, unless you are being supervised by a doctor and actually need to lose a LOT of weight. You should eat at least around 1500 calories a day. Probably more like 2000. Talk a nutritionist or look on the USDA website for more info on that.

By eating too little, you’re body will go into “starvation” mode and greatly reduce your metabolism, and harvest your muscles, thinking that you are in famine situation. So once you do start eating normally again, you’ll gain all the weight back and then some because of your slowed metabolism. (not that you need to lose weight all).

Those are just the most obvious problems I can see. If you concerned about looking too flabby, just lift weights, eat more protein, and generally eat a balanced diet. I am very concerned about how you said that the last time brought you to the “brink of Anorexia.” Please seek therapy if you haven’t already. At least get evaluated. You could be developing an eating disorder and the sooner you get help, the better.

How can i create a diet plan consisting of 7,500 calories?
    Basketball player very active.

    • ANSWER:
7,500 calories? I can’t see a basket ball player needing that much, that’s the sort of level you’d expect from a polar explorer, an endurance cyclist, or an Olympic rower.

What is a extreme diet plan i could follow?
Im not at the wieght i want to be at.. Just like most girls. will i lose weight doing this?

    • ANSWER:
Hey :) I just found this awesome article on “the science behind weight loss”. I got it from dietnation.com but I’ll paste it here to save you the trouble:

“Your body needs a certain amount of calories each day to maintain performance of normal activities, such as walking, breathing, sleeping, and thinking. Depending on your size, your body will require a different amount of calories each day.

On the flip side, if you eat too few calories your body will think its starving. This phenomenon goes back to the days of the caveman, when cave people weren’t really sure when or where they would find their next meal. The body learned to store excess calories as fat for future use. Well, we no longer live like that as we, fortunately and unfortunately, have unlimited access to food thanks to modern conveniences. What this means is, if you’re not eating enough calories your body will store the calories it does get as fat rather than trying to burn those calories. That sounds counterproductive, and it is. That’s why it’s important to feed your body regularly with the right amount of calories from the right sources.

One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories of stored energy. To lose weight you need to eat fewer calories each day or get your butt to the gym and burn off those calories. It’s that easy – you don’t need to be a mathematician to lose weight, you just need to start taking a look at some of your daily habits. Losing weight could mean shaving an extra 250-500 calories off your daily intake. Start your morning with a tall latte? Just one Vanilla Latte could pack an extra 250+ calories onto your daily caloric intake. By simply substituting your latte with regular coffee or green tea you could reduce your caloric intake substantially. If you want to try more exercise, calorie-burning activities such as walking to work, going for a jog with a friend, or taking the kids on a bike ride are all fun and easy ways to increase your daily activity level.

It is also important to remember that you need to eat the right calories from the right sources to lose weight and to maintain your weight loss. A meal of jelly beans and ding dongs that equals your daily caloric needs will not help you lose weight because these types of food are not nutrient sources that your body can use efficiently.

Eating right is a vital component of any weight loss plan, but it’s also very important to ensure that you get enough exercise. Combine aerobic exercise activities (also know as cardio) like walking, jogging or cycling with weight training (it doesn’t have to be anything too intense, but it helps a lot to lift some weights) to maximize your weight loss.”

I really like how this explains weight loss! Also while I was searching around I found this fantastic video which you should definitely check out, has a pile of great tips for how to shed the pounds: http://tinyurl.com/lose-weight-be-happy

I really hope this helps, the fact that you’re looking for help is a great start!

      Good luck :)

How much weight can I lose if I stick to a 500 calorie diet AND….?!?
So I want to really slim down over summer so that I’m back to how I was like 2 years ago, So I have about two and a half months so I want to start as soon as I can to get the most weight I can possibly lose over summer.
I’m doing to 17 day diet but I don’t plan on eating over 500 calories a day, which will be easy for me because I’ll be working all day and over have to worry about the nights. Also on the side over just eating 500 calories I’m going to be going to the gym as many days a week as I can, with a MINIMUM of four times a week plus I plan on walking the signal hill trail, I live in newfoundland, AT LEAST twice a week.

Currently I’m 180lbs and about 5’5 and I’d like to go down to around 120. So do you think it’s possible if I exercise daily and then only eat a maximum of 500 calories a day to lose 60lbs?
I don’t want to lose any less however losing more is very fine with me :) thanks for your time to eat this <3

    • ANSWER:
actually, at first you will lose weight. but you will stop because your body will go into panic and store everything you eat as fat. so eating only 500 cals is not smart.
best thing to do it eat healthy, fruits, veges, protein, fiber, etc. and working out at least an hour a day for 5 days a week.

Is this a healthy diet/calorie plan, and will it work?
I am currently over weight (275) and have plan, but not sure if its healthy, or not enough. Let me explain… My daily calorie intake should be 2000 calories according to a calculator thing I looked at. And I read when trying to loose weight you should cut out 500 calories of that. So I’m going to eat 1500 calories or less, and burn 500cals a day. Is this healthy? Should I increase how many cals I’m burning a day by working out. Or decrease how much I’m eating? Any thing would help. Thank you!!

    • ANSWER:
Oh my goodness, I can hear angels singing! Finally someone on here not planning out a starvation diet.
This plan sounds excellent, healthy, and moderate. I wouldn’t suggest going under 1500 calories though if you’re doing a lot of healthy exercise.
Just as a random tip I find helpful.. when you’re exercising, try not to think about the calories you’re burning. An hour of exercise, for example, will burn plenty of calories, so you can trust that. Just think about how it’s making you feel and have fun with it!
I’m not a dietician, but I think seeing one could be useful to make sure you’re getting the right types of food in your diet. Cutting calories is the bottom line, but it also matters what types of nutriets you’re getting in your 1500 calories.
      Good luck!

i need a daily diet plan that has no more than 500 calories any help?
I need a daily diet plan that has food that contains no more than 500calories for the whole day.Basically i am only allowed to eat 500calories a day.

    • ANSWER:
You will only sabotage your diet at 500 calories. Your metabolism will slow down so much that anything you eat will make you gain weight. You need at least 1200 calories to just support your body functions. Even at that you will have no energy, no life. All you’ll think about is food. Don’t do it!

well, i started out eating half an apple for breakfast, a banana for lunch and vegatables 4 dinner. it went on for 2 months. i lost 40 pounds. haaha…but now, im in an intensive program for anorexics.. so let me tell you, whatever u plan on eating in ur 500 calorie a day diet, it wont last for long. if you keep it up, youl have ur dinners fed to you through a tube under ur blue gown. please dont diet this way. go on weight watchers or something. either it will lead to a big binge or a trip to the ER. sorry if this sounds so intense, but i just dont want anyone ending up how i did. goodluck

    • ANSWER:
I usually ate cereal for breakfast, which was like 160 calories. I then would typically skip lunch, or substitute it with an apple–which is about 50 calories I believe. For a snack, if I was still hungry, I’d just go for another apple. And at last, for dinner, I’d eat cereal again or a lean pocket (250 calories). It helps to fill up on water. I know the food doesn’t sound too great, but cereal actually fills you up quite well. And of course fruits and veggies are always good when you’re still a bit hungry.

The 500 calorie diet, have you tried it?
I need answers from people who have already tried this diet and their results. I know that’s its not healthy and I’m aware of all the dangers of this plan, I already researched. I’m desperate. So please don’t judge. I just want to hear from other peoples past experiences with this diet. I’ve been eating the healthy foods plus going to the gym an hour each day. How much weight would I lose?

    • ANSWER:

500 calorie diet? (I’m just curious)?
    Hello everyone!
I was just wondering, how much weight is someone expected to lose by going on a 500 calorie diet (per day)?
Please, PLEASE don’t tell me it’s unhealthy, I am completely aware of it. And I’m not planning on trying this diet.
Anyways, how much weight can you lose per day, without exercising?
What would be good foods to eat?

    • ANSWER:
Well there are 3500 calories in a pound. So if your burning about 2000 calories a day and eating 500 your in a deficiency of 1500 calories. In a week that’s 10500 calories which comes to about 3 pounds. But this weight is not all fat you will lose muscle and liquid as well. Also in the first week you will pro bally lose an additional 5 pounds of liquid. If you really want to lose weight and not feel like crap, eat 300 less calories a day than you are now and do 20-30 minutes of cardio a day.

very low calorie diet- 500 calories?
Hi there, I don’t want anyone preaching about healthy eating and exercise because I want to build myself up to that.
    Here is my plan:
    2 weeks of 500 calories a day
2 weeks of 600 calories a day with strength training and cardio every day.
2 weeks of 800 calories a day with strength training and cardio every day
2 weeks of 900 calories a day with strength training and cardio every day.
2 weeks of 1000 calories a day with strength training and cardio every day.
    I am 5ft 6 weighing 162-166lbs.

how much weight do you think i will have lost by this point? and as I will eventually begin to exercise will my body still go into starvation mode?

    thankyou for your help
but surely my metabolism won’t drop because i’ll be working out.
Also, I never knew it was bad to work out every day? Should I do it every other day?

    Diet Plan? please help?
hey so im 16 years old, im 5’8 1/2 and i weight 136. i gained two pounds :( bc i was 134. im planning on going on a 500 calorie diet along with exercising(cardio, etc.). because i want to go down to 125 or 120. how does the diet sound? is it healthy? if not what do you suggest i do ?

    • ANSWER:

500 calorie diet? How much weight will I lose?
I have started a 500 calorie diet and wondering how much weight I will lose. I am not starving myself, it’s not the same because I am eating when I am hungry not because it’s lunch or dinner time.

I burn 1000 calories a day working out for 2 hours – treadmill and rowing machine. And 500 calories walking daily.
My BMR is 1475. I know 1lb is 3500, will I lose 5 lbs a week roughly? If you have done this before, how much weight did you lose?

To those who think I will be starving, here’s my plan

    Breakfast –
Freshly squeezed juice (OJ about 70 calories)
Cereal with skimmed milk (131 calories)

    Apple – 59 calories
    Pear – 59 calories

Big bag of salad – 15 calories
    Carrot sticks 160 g – 58 calories

    Boiled cauliflower 100 g- 23 calories
    boiled broccoli 100g – 35 calories
    boiled carrots 100g – 35 calories
    watermelon 80g – 26 calories
I will eat other things by the way this is just an example. I love meat and there’s no way I will not add it. Especially to my evening meals or lunch. I will also eat fish. This was an example to show that I can eat 500 calories and be full if I choose the right food. A lot of food but low calories.

    • ANSWER:
Eura is right, you are missing out on essential componenets of your diet by focusing only onthe calorie count.

Assumning you are not a vegan, at lunch add a chicken breast, or one egg, or a tin of sardines to add teh necessary proteins. At least twice a week add some essential fats, like sardines in oil or bacon strips to your diet as well.

Boiling leaches out most of teh minerals and destroys vitamins. Try steaming your veggies instead.

Every other day, for a snack substitute cottage cheese to get extra portein and calcium in you.

As for supplements, a daily fish oil, multivitamin, calcium 1000mg needs to be added. Also you need to add an iron pill two or three times a week as well.

And finally dont worry about how fast you lose the weight, think about how long you can maintaint the weight you want.

      Good luck!

    500 calorie meal plan?
i know its not healthy. and this is not long term. this is fit-in-that-dress-to-look-sexy-for-christmas/newyears dieting plan. however i do want to get the most nutrition i can. looking for 500-700 calories a day. im more of a volumetrics person than small quantity high taste. i can subdue my chocoholic with 72% cocoa squares (70 cal). ive started taking a daily multi. also, i plan to eat minimal protein since i want to do a lot of working out but my body builds leg muscles at an aggravatingly fast rate (you know how studies say only 1 in 200 or something women body build quickly? yeah, im one of them)
so, anyone have meal plans or food suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
there is no way nutritionally a diet of 500-700 calories a day would ever be healthy. Its a crash diet which may help you lose weight quickly but afterwards when you return to your normal diet the weight will go back and more than likely a little bit more.

What’s a good diet plan for 2600 calories intake?
I will be starting the slim fast diet which will be 3 shakes, 2 meal bars, and 1 500 calorie meal. The shakes are 180 calories and the snack bars are 100 calories. I need to consume 2600 all together so what other foods can I add to my diet. I want majority of fruits because I love them.

    • ANSWER:

Do the HCG drops diet plan work?
I bought these drops a few months ago, and they’ve been sitting in a droor since, but iv’e decided to use them! They’re HCG Platinum X-30 – 30 Day Weight Loss Program, and my questions are- Do they work? & is the 500 calorie diet even safe?! And I am 16 so I was wondering if that had anything to do with the results. I am looking to lose 50-65 lbs fast. Please help, thank you.

    • ANSWER:
Save your money. Plain and simple, the HCG diet program is a SCAM. It’s a 30X homeopathic product. That 30X means there is one part of HCG in 1 x 10^30 parts of water. Yes, that’s a 1 with 30 zeros after it. Some products are as dilute as 60X, a 1 with 60 zeros after it.

You lose weight because of an anorexic diet, you’re limited to 500 calories a day. THAT’S how you lose the weight, not by taking drops of water mixed into a glass of water or under your tongue.

Just so you know 10^30 drops of water equate to over 16 TRILLION cubic miles of water. In all those cubic miles of water, there would be just 1 drop of HCG. You have less than a 1 in 10MILLION chance of your 1 or 2oz bottle containing just 1 molecule of HCG.

I have a question about calorie-counting diet plans?
For example, say you are trying to lose a few pounds, so you go with a 1,200 calorie-per-day diet.
If you exercise and burn off 500 calories, does that mean you can eat 1,700 calories for that day? Or do you eat 1,200 calories no matter how much exercise you do?

Please don’t say that it is up to me. I’m honestly interested in your answers.

    Many thanks!

    • ANSWER:
the whole point is to eat a set amount and then exercise.
there’s no point exercising if you just want to eat more.

How is my radical diet plan?
This is sort of copied off my brothers diet plan for his college football stuff (he’s div 1 serious).

    192 lb
    30% bf
    18 years old

    Diet info:
Keto diet: 2500 calories (18/6 eating protocol > fasting for 18 hours > eating phase 6 hours a day)
    75% Fat, 20% protein, & 5% fat
Note: my diet includes a lot of vitamins and minerals, about 10x the normal amount needed

    Exercise routine
Morning 3 hours of cycling at 15 mph (45 miles)
Afternoon – 100 of the following push ups, dips, stomach vacuums, sit ups, crunches, reverse crunches

I burn 5,500 calories a day, I’m on a 2,500 calorie diet, so i will lose about 3,000 calories a day. I’ll lose 6 pounds a week. Since I’m on keto and eat a really high fat diet, I should lost a lot of fat and not lose muscle
    I meant 5% carbs

    • ANSWER:

Okay, my mom got the whole packet & thing (it’s the 20 day one or something and it’s the drops) and I haven’t done it yet. But I read in the diet book that they have in the box, that it’s a STRICT 500 calorie diet and you really can’t go out of the line when you eat basically.
My mom doesn’t do the 500 calorie diet but she eats fairly healthy anyways, and I’m kind of scared to actually do it because I don’t know how long I would last with it.

Is it possible to do the hcg diet AND not go by the diet plan when you eat healthy anyways and still lose weight?

    • ANSWER:
don’t even consider wasting money on HCG. There is no guarantee the drops even contain any HCG.

The FDA has required all marketing and advertising of HCG to state the following: “HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or ‘normal’ distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”

Scientists have actually investigated this “miracle cure for obesity.”

Not only is the diet no more effective than calorie restriction alone, the HCG also doesn’t affect hunger or other more subjective factors of dieting.

Even experts in the supplement industry say the products aren’t legal and don’t work. Andrew Shao of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, an industry group, says HCG is “not considered a legal dietary ingredient and therefore cannot be sold as a dietary supplement. I am not aware of any scientific evidence that supports its use when taken orally.”

Because HCG is a peptide hormone, it would be broken down by the stomach and rendered ineffective, he says. He says the products are mostly sold over the Internet, so it’s difficult to track sales.

500 calorie meal plan with exercises? any ideas?
i want a diet for me 500 calories and under.. im joined at a local gym so i have access to all gym equipment
    here’s my stats
    15 years
    183 pounds (81 kilos)
so im obese and i know 500 is less than your suppose to but i don’t need that much food! no lectures just help :) i want to burn off the 500 and more so specific exercises would help heaps thanks a bunch… best answer 10 points! :D

    • ANSWER:
I think you have it in your mind what you are going to do, and by the simple fact that you said:”no lectures”, means that you do not really want help. I think you know what to do, and there is no quick way to drop about 60lbs, because if you eat 500 calories, that is starvation, and the body will go into starvation mode and you will not lose weight.

I feel like my weight loss has stalled even though I am continuing to diet and excersize what should I do?
I’m following an under 1,500 calorie diet plan, only non processed healthy foods- I literally haven’t had any candy, ice-cream, potato chips or other processed foods in about four weeks. The most indulgent thing I’ve eaten recently would be 2 slices of bread with a tablespoon of honey shared between the two, and I’ve cut that out since the weightloss stalled.

(so far today I’ve had Quaker Delightful Hazelnut Latte Oatmeal for breakfast and an activia Strawberry Yogurt smoothie for a snack, I will have a big salad with tomatoes and cucumber and bacon bits for lunch with 3 tbsp Ranch dressing and for dinner I’ll have a 4oz lean steak with 1/2 slice provolone cheese, onions and bell peppers with broccoli on the side and if I still feel hungry I will have some honey roast almonds)

I also excersize I’ve been daily using the Walk at Home 2 mile set along with strength training and I’ve also added in Jillian Micheals 30 Day shred, but I just started that today so I don’t know how effective that will be and I’m only on the first stage.

I started out loosing weight fairly quickly 10 pounds in the first 3 weeks but it feels like i’ve just hit a rut or something I think I look better but the scale isn’t going down anymore.

I need to fix this so I can stay motivated and stay away from the Ben and Jerry’s!

    • ANSWER:
Try mixing up your diet with different foods, same goes for your exercises. At some point you will start to grow muscle which will be heavier than fat, the tick is to lose body fat and start replacing it muscle. As far as eating you may not be getting enough and your body may be storing food for when it needs it.

How many meals are you wanting to eat a day?

      Try this:

      Nutrii grain bar (130 calories)

      Yogurt (100 calories)

Fish and rice (270 calories; get the frozen cajun styule Gorton’s and serving size bowls of Minute Rice)

Good luck with that. When I was anorexic I lost a ton of hair and had 2 heart attacks, and I was only 20.

How does this diet sound? 500 calorie diet. Read description.?
First of all, don’t say “THATS NOT HEALTHY” because i already talked to my doctor. For 1 week i have a meal plan that i follow exactly. It’s 500 calories a day and under 10 carbs. I know it sounds extreme but i am taking vitamin D to boost my metabolism and eating a lot of protein. My body will go into ketosis and will burn my fat because of lack of carbs. The second week i will eat 800 calories a day and have a maximum of 15 carbs. The third week, 1200 calories a day, and 20 grams of carbs. Then i will maintain this routine of 1200 calories a day. Also i work out 2 days a week with a personal trainer and i do 30 minutes of cardio every morning before i eat breakfast. If you tell me this is not healthy then i will say “BS”

    • ANSWER:

He probably talked to his podiatrist.

    The 500 calorie diet?
I’ve been eating between 400-500 each day for about 5 days so far. Now I’ve been eating about 4 times a day, and I haven’t been hungry, so how is this starving yourself? Why eat when you’re not hugry? Isn’t that why most people are overweight in the first place? I’ve just been eating the right foods with fewer calories. Drinking plenty of water and I’m planning on taking a multi-vitamin. How much weight could I lose in about 40 days and how could I go about starting to eat more once I reach my goal weight, but not gain it all back. If you think this is a bad idea, sorry to hear. It’s not your body, I’d just like some answers that aren’t telling me that I’m probably just a teenager being an idiot and how you need at least 1200 calories to live. Before this diet I ate less than 1200 and that was eating constantly. Thanks in advance.

I can see where your going wrong. Your burning alot of calories, your not supplying your body with enough energy, plus your doing weight training, so you use more energy. If you don’t have enough energy, your body will store any as fat.
Last week I lost 4lbs, I eat loads. BUT, I workout everyday for 2 hours except for sat and weds, these days I go for a light swim instead.
The more you workout, the more you eat, I eat about 1000, 1600 cals a day. Weekends prob 800more, I’m burning it off!

Plus, I have a workout buddy, we do same stuff, I do more toning and weight training, but she is gaining weight! why? She don’t eat brek or lunch, just dinner. Thats where she going wrong.

Just eat the right foods, and make sure all your meals are 70% water, ie, fruit and veg.

      Hope I helped!

The biggest part of losing weight is a diet. People can loose weight doing that alone. Exercise just helps to speed up the process. But 500 calories isn’t enough. 1,000 is alot safer. Plus, when you get off your diet and your eating more normal again you don’t want to balloon back up.

You would lose a fair amount I would imagine, though despite you’re not wanting to be lectured, being “medically checked” isn’t going to help you once you’ve done that diet and are feeling faint and ill from it, plus you’ll put it back on a lot quicker and possibly more when you stop because your body will react to having a normal food intake again. You want to lose weight quickly in two weeks? Eat healthy foods (you don’t need to go over the top, just stop the junk food and watch the calories) and go swimming every day for an hour or so, that’ll burn about 500 calories a day which will in turn burn about a pound a week. Might not sound like a lot but it’s better than making yourself ill, and you’ll tone at the same time.
