Diet Weight Loss Chart

A weight loss chart serves as a guide when you embark on your own personal weight loss mission. It can help record and track your progress and keep you on track for your goals. A weight loss chart is a great diet companion and can provide help when you need to refer to it.

The charts can show you your weekly and monthly weight loss. This is fantastic motivation as you see where all your hard work is going. There is nothing like being reminded you have lost 5 lbs, 10 pounds or more. Then it doesn’t hurt to be reminded when you slip up and add back a pound or so.

It is easy to make your own weight loss chart but it is easier and faster to download a free chart from the internet. Many websites offer free weight loss charts. Ideally you need to print it out so that you can physically write on the chart.

This means you need to search for a printable weight loss chart. These charts will come in a format which easily prints on your home printer. Non-printable charts will require you to enter the information on your computer, something which is not always convenient or practical.

Turning on the computer to record your progress can be a hassle. That is why a printable weight loss chart is the most ideal method of recording your data. Once you print out your weight loss chart, hang it up in a location that is easily visible to you. There is little point storing the chart away; it’s best to hang it from a wall.

If you don’t want your family members or visitors seeing the chart there are several other areas you can use. Obviously the most convenient place would be the back of your bathroom door. Another convenient place would be the back of your bedroom door.

But the one place where it could really help you is the refrigerator door. Think about it for a minute. Every single time you went to grab another unhealthy snack it would be staring you eye ball to eye ball.

Why do weight loss charts help?

They allow you to quickly record your daily progress. You can write down what you’ve eaten, the exercise you’ve done and of course, your weight for the day.

When is the best time to weigh?

It is best to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, before eating anything, as this is when your most accurate weight is portrayed. It is vital to only weigh yourself at the same time each day to avoid fluctuations and inaccuracies.

It’s a fantastic idea to keep an accurate and regular record of your weight loss progress. This is one of the best ways for you to stay motivated and on track to achieve your weight loss goals. Printable weight loss charts from the internet are free and easy to use, so make sure you download one today.

    • ANSWER:
I BELIEVED THAT NO TWO PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH
WERE ALIKE; NO TWO PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME FINGERPRINTS, LIP PRINTS, OR VOICE PRINTS. NO TWO BLADES OF GRASS OR SNOWFLAKES ARE ALIKE. BECAUSE I FELT THAT ALL PEOPLE WERE DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER, I DID NOT THINK IT WAS LOGICAL THAT THEY SHOULD EAT THE SAME FOODS. IT BECAME CLEAR TO ME THAT SINCE EACH PERSON WAS HOUSED IN A SPECIAL BODY WITH DIFFERENT STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES AND NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, THE ONLY WAY TO MAINTAIN HEALTH OR CURE ILLNESS WAS TO ACCOMMODATE TO THAT PARTICULAR PATIENT’S SPECIFIC NEEDS.
      James D’Adamo

The dynamics of weight loss are related to the changes your body makes when you follow your genetically tailored diet. There are two factors.
      1) First, as your body makes the dramatic shift of eliminating foods that are poorly digested or toxic, the first thing it does is try flush out the toxins that are already there.
Those toxins are mainly deposited in the fat tissue, so the process of eliminating toxins also means eliminating fat.
      2) The second factor is the effects that specific foods have on the bodily systems that control weight. Depending on your blood type, the lectin activity of certain foods may do the following:
__ Interfere with the digestive process.
__ Slow down the rate of food metabolism, so you don’t efficiently burn calories
      for energy.
__ Compromise the production of insulin.
__ Upset the hormonal balance, causing water retention (oedema), thyroid
      disorders and other problems.

Our blood contains aeons of genetic memory–bits and pieces of specific programming, passed on from our ancestors in codes we are still attempting to comprehend. One such code rests within our blood type. Perhaps it is the most important code we can decipher in our attempt to unravel the mysteries of blood and its vital role in
      our existence.

__ When you use the individualized characteristics of your blood type as a guide for eating and living you will be healthier, you will easily reach your ideal weight and you will slow the process of ageing.

__ Your blood type is a more reliable measure of your identity than race, culture or geography. It is a genetic blueprint for who you are, a guide to how you can live most fully.

      Type O.
The oldest and most basic blood type, the survivor at the top of the food chain, with a strong and ornery immune system willing to and capable of destroying anyone, friend or foe.

      __ Type A.
The first immigrants, forced by the necessity of migration to adapt to a more agrarian diet and lifestyle–and a more cooperative personality to get along in crowded communities.

      __ Type B.
The assimilator, adapting to new climates and the mingling of populations; representing nature’s quest for a more balanced force between the tensions of the mind and the demands of the immune system.

      __ Type AB.
The delicate offspring of a rare merger between the tolerant Type A and the formerly barbaric but more balanced Type B.

      -O is for Old.-
The appearance of our Cro-Magnon ancestors around 40,000 BC propelled the human species to the top of the food chain, making them the most dangerous predators on earth. They began to hunt in organized packs; in a short time, they were able to make weapons and use tools. These major advances gave them strength and superiority beyond their natural physical abilities

      -A is for Agrarian.-
Type A blood initially appeared somewhere in Asia or the Middle East between 25,000 and 15,000 BC in response to new environmental conditions. It emerged at the peak of the Neolithic Period, or New Stone Age, which followed the Old Stone Age, or Paleolithic period, of the Cro-Magnon hunters. Agriculture and animal domestication
were the hallmarks of its culture.

Blood Type A had mutated from Type O in response to the myriad infections provoked by an increased populace and major dietary changes.

      -B is for Balance.-
Blood Type B developed sometime between 10,000 and 15,000 BC, in the area of the Himalayan highlands–now part of Pakistan and India.
Pushed from the hot, lush savannahs of eastern Africa to the cold, unyielding highlands of the Himalayas, Blood Type B may have initially mutated in response to climactic changes. It first appeared in India or the Ural region of Asia among a mix of Caucasian and Mongolian tribes. This new blood type was soon characteristic of the great tribes of steppe dwellers, who by this time dominated the Eurasian plains.

      -AB is for Modern.-
Type AB blood is rare. Emerging from the intermingling of Type A Caucasians with Type B Mongolians, it is found in less than 5 per cent of the population, and it is the newest of the blood types.

How can I loss my weight? I had an accident & that’s why I can’t walk or workout properly .I can walk slowly, but that’s not enough. My age is 28 & my weight is 84 kg & I’m 5’4”. My heaviness is harmful for my feet. So please give me some solution & some diet chart .

    • ANSWER:
      Here are a few tips;

WHEN to eat for losing weight…

      • Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That’s the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight… you must eat (the right things, of course)
      • Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
      • Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
      OK, one apple after 18:00
      • Don’t starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
      • Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast–eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.

WHAT to drink for losing weight…

      • Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the “hunger” sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don’t believe the slogan “water makes me fat”. Beside being stupid… you might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.
      • Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squized!
Don’t drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, Spite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.
I thought this was not possible for me to achieve. Now… I don’t even LIKE them anymore!
Nothing compares to the the smell of a fresh natural fruit juice! Not speaking about health…
      • Avoid those vending machines by carrying around your own healthful foods and leaving pocket change at home.

As for exercise, since you cant do it much, maybe do some simple stretching everyday. or just walk around your house, clean your house or just anything. as odd as it sounds one can burn calory from cleaning house.

      Good Luck!

  12. QUESTION:
I made a chart of my weight loss, too fast or slow?
I’m on the South Beach diet. Here is my progress, I feel that its too slow.

Saturday-November 17, 07: I started the South Beach Diet, which I began at the weight of 175 lbs.
    Sunday-November 18, 07: 174lbs.
    Monday-November 19, 07: 174lbs.
Tuesday-November 20, 07: 173 lbs and alot of cramps in my body.
    Wednesday-November 21, 07: 171lbs almost 170lbs.
I’m only 16, but I want to be thin when I go I back for break, thats why I’m doing this.

    • ANSWER:
you’re not supposed to lose 20 lbs over night or even in a month, most people only lose a few pounds a month, muscle build up, and it weighs more than fat. people’s weight changes throughout the day. in the morning you may weight 170 then after lunch it may be 173 then dinner 174 then before you fo to bed 171.. if you feel better and healthier and feel a difference in any way, then great job, don’t try to meet other people’s expectations, or even worse your own. when you feel a change, then others will know it too.

i hope you continue this diet in a healthy way.

      GOOD LUCK

Is it enough for me to lose weight and get a fat free mascular body

    • ANSWER:
      go to www.caloriecount.about.com

once you put in your height, weight and age and everything it works out for you how many calories you can have in a day to lose weight.. so then all you will have to do is type in what you eat (so your banana and your egg etc) and it works out how many calories you have been eating to see whether your eating too much.

A banana has around 100 calories in it by the way.. which isnt too bad as long as you dont eat too many (im allowed 1500 calories a day according to the site, so i have a banana for breakfast every morning too haha)

Ive been doing it for 3 weeks and have lost 3.7kg :)
Try it, you might like it

  14. QUESTION:
How do you put a 7-8 year old on a diet/exercise plan for weight loss?
My daughter is about 4’4 and currently weighs 85 lbs which is about 10 lbs over weight according to the growth charts I found. Her weight is really affecting her self esteem as she is constantly comparing herself to other girls her age who are tiny and have almost no body fat.

I’m not sure how many calories she should be consuming a day or how much fat, protein, etc. We generally eat pretty healthy in our house, I try to keep her away from the sugar and saturated fats and usually give her healthy snacks like fruit and vegetables, but she just wants to eat all of the time.

I’m also not sure what is a reasonable amount of exercise for her to be doing. Being that it is summer we will be spending at least a half hour in the pool everyday. Is this enough activity for a 7 year old?

What would you guys recommend I do to help her shed the extra weight over the summer?

    • ANSWER:
if she watching too much tv that bad idea you gain weight because your doing nothing try to encourage her to go outside and play with the other kids or go take her out for a walk the two of you every day. and for her eating problem she should eat every three hours studies shows this boosts up your metabolism. example: breakfast 3 hours later a healthy snack, 3 hrs. after that lunch 3hrs. after that a healthy snack, 3 hrs. later dinner and if shes still hungry give her a small healthy snack 3 hrs. later after dinner. dont give her huge snacks give her some carrots or a small fruit salad, some yogurt. and once in while a treat wouldn’t hurt just to ease the temptation. remember she’s 7 she still has her youth on her side and it can depend on ones genes too the type of body you have. everybody’s body is different. you just got to give it some time shes still growing.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week – its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
      8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried – no junk food.

    • ANSWER:
Ms. Swapna. Listen to me. I am an elderly person who had seen all these things.
Your first and foremost goal should be to keep good health. These crash diets etc. certainly have their adverse effect on a person’s health. You do not want to discover one day that you have gall-stones due to these fastings etc.
Ask your doctor/nutritionist for a proper advice and a diet chart and an exercise regimen. People like me are not qualified to give you serious advice regarding diet, etc.
Body weight is like a Bank account. You put in more and take out less, you end up with a big balance. You watch what you eat. You do not need to exercise. Attend to your household chores. Walk when you can ride your two wheeler.
And, most importantly, do you really feel that people do not love you, if you are 20 kgs. heavier and they would love you if you lose them? Do you not love a relative of yours whom you love but who is overweight?
Your charm lies in your behavior, your smile and the body language and your personality (psychological personality not body personality).
      Good Luck.

  18. QUESTION:
Is there a way to estimate how many inches of weight loss would equal a pound?
I don’t weigh myself because I care more about how I feel about myself and what size I am than how much I weigh (plus I have muscle and weigh more than someone who doesn’t). But I do measure myself to chart progress and am curious…I started a diet in February and have lost 14 1/2 inches – I’m 5’1″ and am back in size 4. Is there any way to estimate how many pounds 14 1/2 inches might be?

    • ANSWER:
My personal trainer said to to plan 2 lbs. for every inch that you want to lose. So if you have lost 14 1/2 inches maybe around 29 lbs. That may be fat lbs. lost rather than overall lbs. lost since you have been lifting.

  19. QUESTION:
What are the most effective low cost weight loss supplement?
I have already adjusted my diet and increase my caloric burn during the day. I have an event coming up and based on my current projections (anal enough to chart on an Excel spreadsheet) I am not going to reach my goal in time. Anything that could provide a boost would be great. Only product that ever worked for me was ephedrine, but now that you can only get in on the internet, from producers I am not familiar/confident with, I am not sure what products are truly effective.

    • ANSWER:
There are several reputable online companies that sell ephedrine. I’ve ordered from several with no problems. I would post the URL, except every time I do my account gets suspended.

    Please help[:

Sorry i sound so desperate, its just i guess i am desperate to lose weight.

    • ANSWER:
      - don’t think about the entire weight loss, just concentrate on losing 5 pounds. then celebrate. then lose 5 more.
      - drink nothing but water, herbal tea, and perhaps one morning coffee (no sugar). take no calories in liquid form!
      - think about eating MORE – more often, more small meals, more fresh raw fruit and veggies, more whole grains and lean protein. you’ll accidentally leave out the junk food.
      - eat no chemicals. if you can’t pronounce it or don’t know what it is, why on earth would you ingest it? this will cut out junk food, processed meats, and other garbage

  21. QUESTION:
    Weight loss….Its Urgent…?
Hey i am on diet thez days..kindly suggest some diet-chart that can be followed (100% vegetaterian) to reduce weight soon…its bit urgent as i am gonna meet my BF’s family soon…

Below is the diet i am following alongwith skipping (almost 400) and crunches (50-60)..

Morning-A cup of coffee(sugar-free) with 1 or 2 Monaco biscuits
After an hour or two-Fruits (water-melon, papaya or 1 apple)
Afternoon-1 or 1 and a half chapati with 1 bowl vegetables and Dal, if made plus one plate salad.
    Evening-1 bowl Poha or Upma
Night-Soup and salad if feeling hungry

Kindly suggest whats wrong in this as i cant c much differnce in my self….

    • ANSWER:
Women lose weight slower than men, so if time is the case then you must be actually willing to work hard. Cut out the coffee as well as the biscuits. Cut down your calories a day and go to a certain amount depending on your height and age. Here’s a few things you can do that will help you quickly:

      1) Drink LOTS of water a day, not fruit juice or any other type of liquid. Pure water is nature’s best.

      2) Do cardio and burn some fat – Go jogging or cycling. Cycling can help you burn up to 700 calories an hour depending on how fast you cycle.

      3) Drink green tea – Rumors are that it increases your metabolism, so just drink it once or twice a day without any sugar.

You can’t expect to lose weight just by eating less and by doing crunches for your abs. Yes, it is true that you can lose weight without eating, but it is EXTREMELY unhealthy, and once you start eating again it will mess up your system. Just edit your diet a bit, drink lots of water and do a lot of cardio in between that all. Remember to take time to rest!

PS: Sweating is good + Sauna is an even better idea. REST is good too. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

  25. QUESTION:
is this a good teen diet?how much should i do on the calories?
Rules to Follow – teenage diet plan
The teenage weight loss plan makes it clear what to do:
Follow Height/Weight Charts to Help Set Goals and Monitor Weight Loss

    Eat a Balanced Diet

Lose Weight Mostly by Burning Extra Calories…Which Means Exercise!

Go to Bed at the same time and Sleep 6-8 Hours Every Night

    Drink More Water
Rules Not to Break – teenage diet plan
The teenage weight loss plan clearly outlines things that can ruin your dieting efforts:
Never Lose More Than 2 Pounds per Week

Never Lose Weight by Eating Fewer Calories without Exercising

Never Limit or Completely Avoid Eating any Food Group

Say No to Fast Foods (at least most of the time say no)

Don’t Fast or Skip Meals — The Best Way to Lose Weight is to Eat 5-6 Meals Everyday

Don’t Let Emotions Drive You to Eat
The Simple Steps – teenage diet plan
There are only four steps to complete when on the teenage weight loss plan:
    Exercise
This is in addition to any physical activity you do during school. You need to combine some form of aerobic exercises with resistance training. This is the best thing for growing bodies.

Your muscles will become tone and “tight.” The more tone your muscles are the more you can control your weight and prevent weight gain.

    Here are some examples:

Walk with wrist and ankle weights 4-5 times per week for 45 minutes. Walk up hills as your conditioning improves.

Aerobic class with wrist and ankle weights 3-4 times per week for 30-40 minutes.

Swimming organized laps 4-5 times per week.

    Circuit Training with Resistance Bands.

Supervised strength building routine using free weights and machines followed by 1-2 mile jogs, 3-4 times per week.

Eat a Balanced Diet and Slowly Reduce Calories
Reduce your calories by 5% of your normal caloric intake for two weeks. Then reduce your calories by 10% for one week. End with a 15% reduction in your daily calories for one week. That’s a total of 4 weeks of a reduced calorie diet.

Continue exercising and monitor your weight loss. Never lose more than 2 pounds per week. Add calories back to your diet as needed to stay below 2 pounds of weight loss per week.

Never try a low Carb diet, low Fat diet, or any diet that severely limits one food group.

    Go on a Diet Holiday
Every 5th week of dieting, when you’re trying to lose weight, stop the calorie reduction and start eating the amount you normally would, but following a more balanced diet.

Continue exercising during the Diet Holiday.

Do this for one week and then restart the 4 week calorie reduction plan. Like before, start by reducing your calories by 5% of your normal intake for two weeks, followed by 10% for one week, and then ending with the maximum reduction of 15% for one week. Now repeat the Diet Holiday again.

    Follow the Diet Cycle
In case you didn’t notice, it’s a diet cycle that you’re following. You gradually reduce your calories from 5% to 15% of your normal intake over 4 weeks and then start a one week Diet Holiday. Repeat the process until you reach your ideal weight.

That’s it! And, yes, it’s that simple. Tone (and maybe build) your muscles, slowly reduce your calories over 4 weeks eating a balanced diet, and end the cycle with a one week Diet Holiday (but keep exercising).

    • ANSWER:
It is good that you are choosing to lose weight by exercising and not by starving yourself, but you still have to be careful not to over-exercise or under-eat.
A 15 year old teenage girl should be getting 2000-2500 calories each day to maintain a healthy weight and a 15 year old boy even more, so I guess that’s what you should have on diet holidays… But it all depends on you as an individual and on your circumstances and lifestyle.
Make sure you’re getting lots of your calories from carbohydrates to fuel you for the extra exercise, and have more protein to help with cell repair and growth after strength-building exercise.
I really recommend that you talk to a health professional about this programme before you start it to make sure that you’re not harming your future self… at the very least, check up with your parents :)

Good luck, I hope that you feel happy and confident in your body very soon…

How can i correct my mistake now? following this?
Please explain diet holiday only thing i didnt get thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Diet holiday is stopping with the excess diet that you are doing. Just eat normally but balanced. Every food group etc. A diet holiday is when you go off the diet for a week or two, but continue to eat balanced meal, not going out for fast food etc. Basically it is practice for when you really go off the diet. You will have to learn to eat a balanced diet without all the calorie counting and obsessing about what you are doing. It has to become a way of life, and that is what the holiday is.

    • ANSWER:
I don’t think you really need to lose that much weight, but you can eat and drink healthier stuff and you can exercise..

      Here are a few tips;

      • Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squeezed!
Don’t drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, Spite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.
      • Avoid those vending machines by carrying around your own healthful foods and leaving pocket change at home.

      Exercise for losing weight…

      • If you want quicker results – exercise would be good.
      • Start a regular exercise program and stick with it. Don’t be afraid of those sweat suits and Lycra pants!
      • Start swimming. Swimming is an excellent exercise to get involved with, since it increases blood flow and uses muscles we don’t regularly use. Start a swimming program and try to do it 3 times a week. You will feel excellent and rejuvenated.
      • Choose an exercise program that you enjoy, and don’t shun the unconventional. For instance, did you know that regular vigorous dancing is exercise too?
      • Also Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

      Good luck!

  32. QUESTION:
Does weight loss really take a while to show up on the scale?
Well I’m 14 I weight 180 lbs. I never really thought that was so much and I don’t really look fat (I didn’t work out either). I went to the doctor and I was like close to the top of the weight/height chart thing and she told me I need to lose weight. After that I’ve been trying really hard to be healhier.

I used to drink 7 cans of coke (140 calories each) a day now I’m drinking none at all (only crystal light). And I’ve been eating less, not on a diet but I’ve just been snacking less and not getting seconds so much. Also I’ve been working out 6 days a week, 3 days of lifting weights for about 30 minutes and 3 days of walking/jogging (C25K program). The scale says I haven’t lost any weight but my pants feel really looser and I look less bloated. Is it possible that I could be losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time which is why I’m not losing any weight? THANKS!
My goal weight is to be 155

A good diet plan for a very overweight person?
My dad has been overweight ever since I was young… I realy want a good diet plan for him to lose weight ( But very safe ) Because I dont want him to hurt himself on a drastic weight loss.
What should he have for breakfast, snack, Lunch, Dinner, Snack… Every day…. I want to right up a chart for him and send it to him.
    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Well I can easily help you here.
There are six essential nutrients for the body
      1) Vitamins
      2) Minerals
      3) Protein
      4) Water
      5) Carbohydrates
      6) Fats
Your father can still eat the foods that he likes but when he goes to the supermarket, he can check the nutrition facts on two different brands and see which one is healthier.

I have a BIG warning however: SUGAR IS THE ENEMY!

Make sure he buys snacks and foods that have no more than 9g of sugar. He can go to mypyramid.gov to see exactly how many calories he should intake in one day (he’ll need to make an account, go to plain daily menu).

Look for foods that are high in dietary fibers and that have high protein content seeing as protein helps restore and repair muscle and tissue.

As for fats, look for foods that have almost no trans or saturated fats. Unsaturated fats are much better. In calorie intake, make sure that no more then 30% of the calories in the food come from fat, no more, maybe less. Whole wheats are better than any others because they make the digestive tract work more and thus leaves it cleaner.

If you want, you can sign him up for something he likes that can also help him lose weight. For example, I take Karate/Kickboxing and not only did it help me burn belly fat, it helped my anger issues, and I love fighting (I mean the sport!).

The good thing about this type of diet is that you can still eat what you like, no one is forcing you to eat what you don’t like…so I hope this helps…

If it doesn’t, I’m only twelve so…hee hee

  34. QUESTION:
Help with 2 questions? Tv show and weight loss patches.?
Q1:) On the TV series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. In the episode where chandler has sex with his girlfriend kathy for the first time. Monica draws him up a chart with 7 things on it about girls and pleasure. Does anyone know what those 7 things are?

Q2:) I have purchased some weight loss gel patches.

You apply one every day and remove at night

They are supposed to help lose weight.

It comes with a diet plan but I am not following it.

I am sticking to my usual eating habbiits.

I don’t eat healthily nor unhealthily but I eat quite a bit.

Will these gel patches still assist in weight loss????

    Thank you!!!!

    • ANSWER:
Sorry I didn’t really watch friends, but as to your question about the gel patch Do you really think if it was as easy as buying a patch we’d have any overweight people? None of the quick fixes work, it’s the diet and exercise program that they send you with the quick fix that works. That is why they can legally market it the way they do. They say use there pill, patch, or whatever with the diet plan they send and you’ll lose weight. Sorry I know I wish it was that easy too.

  35. QUESTION:
Question about weight loss or rather toning instead of weight loss?
I’m about 160lbs, 25, and about 5’7, but I have a bit of a gut to me that i’m trying to get rid of, since according to weight/height charts for my age i’m just a few lbs over the ideal weight. So I don’t know if I need to really start “losing” weight to get rid of the belly. So i’m wondering if changing my diet to include less calories and less fatty foods would help or if all I need to do is just walk or do crunches. I eat usually eat fast foods or pizza but never really gained weight from it, i’ve always been around this height and weight for years even with the less than healthy diet of food I usually eat. I’ve started eating whole grain breads, egg whites, counting calories a bit, and going to places like subway and eating their onion chicken teriyaki which is about 400 calories, loaded up with lettuce, onions, banana pepper, tomato, and cucumbers, as much veggie variety as was available there. So what would be your recommendations on getting rid of the belly? Any nutrition industry/trainers/etc etc on this site that can help? Trying to not just get peoples personal opinions but informed information that will help, usually opinions are just that, personal opinions, and thus always vary between person to person. Thanks in advance.
btw if it isn’t obvious by my avatar I’m am male :-p
I forgot to add, also, on Wednesdays I eat a LOT of sushi, I don’t know if that is ok or not, but it seems like opinions varied on that when I searched for info on it.

  37. QUESTION:
    weight Loss for Military Service?
Thank you all for reading this question and taking the time to answer. My question is I am trying to lose about 40 lbs of fat and get into shape for military ( reserve) boot camp by May 2010. I am 5’7 and I weight about 217lbs( lost 10 lbs) in past three weeks. I have started to exercise daily and here is my program. Every gym sessions lasts about 2 hours.
Mon- Chest and triceps ( 4 sets and min 6-8 reps per exercise) + 1 Hour Cardio ( ski machine – heart rate about 150)
Tues- Back and biceps ( same as above) + 1 Hour cardio ( same as above)
Wed- Legs+ 1 Hour cardio( same as above)
Thurs- Shoulders( 4 sets min 6-8 reps per exercise) + 1 hour cardio ( ski machine)
Fri- Back ( 4 sets min 6-8 reps per exercise) + 1 Hour cardio( ski machine heart rate 150).
Sat – rest Cardio only 1 hour ( heart rate 150)
    Sun- no exercise.
Sleep- 6- 8 hours but sometimes hard because working two jobs and hours are crazy, but trying my best.

Diet- High protein, low healthy carbs ( oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, just before working out) + supplements ( vitamins), and only water to drink, maybe one coffee to get me up in the morning. Meals are about six meals a day ( ie)
Monday- breakfast – salmon burger(2) egg whites(2) bottle of water, coffee (black), small portion of walnuts
snack( 4 hours later) break bar known as Cliff bar+ water
Lunch: Grilled Lamb+ whole wheat pasta or my favorite bowl of Oatmeal with blueberries and skim milk+_water.
( carbs only before workout and never before sleep)
snack ( after gym) Break bar or protein shake+ water
Dinner: Grilled turkey or my favorite salmon steaks( only steamed, baked or grilled)
Now my questions are I know this can be improved on? I only did this because this a plan I use to use when I studied Judo, and it did help. But that was 20 years ago, and things have changed. Ultimate goal is a weight around 170 and BMI less than 20%, since military chart says I am overwieght. If anyone has any comments of any help with this program which could speed up my weight loss, that would be greatly appreciated. Please no special weight loss drinks that only screw with your metabolism, all natural all the way, PLEASE. Thank you all in advance, for your help.
again please Kenzie and all I do not want a super special diet berry that only I must buy. And you have cure to all my ailments I do not believe in that and think it is a waste of time.

    • ANSWER:
Your current program has nothing for core / abs. You need to exercise this if you want to avoid chronic conditions such as back problems.

Doing 6-8 reps per set for an exercise is for increasing strength, and not for weight loss. What you should be looking at is between 15 and 20 reps per set, with a weight that will make the 20th rep almost impossible to lift.

Also, since you’re training for weight loss, you don’t need to stagger your body parts over 5 days. Do Chest and back on day 1, shoulders and core on day 2, and legs and arms (biceps and triceps) on day 3.

Remember to do a short warm up and stretch routine before you start with the weights, and do your cardio after wards. Try and get a bit of variation into your cardio, as doing the same thing every day will cause you to lose effectiveness. Use the treadmill, stationary bike, etc as well.

My BMI was like, 18.3 or something like that, and 18.5 and lower is underweight. what I don’t get is I’m not really underweight. i have absolutely no flexibility. i can’t even do a cartwheel, handstand, back bend, you name it.
oh, i’m 12 years old. idk if age has anything ot do with BMI
but if it does. yeah. oh, and ima girl if you couldn’t tell from my profile pic XD

um i tried doing pilates but i find it hard to keep your stomach sucked in, it’s really really super hard to breathe.
i’m trying to quit junk food, but the temptation, it’s still here.
my mom buys tons of it.
i just had some pepsi, and 3 humongous brownies, and then i was like. STOP. NO. WATER.’
so, i’ve got that part down?
    any timps would be useful.
oh and i have absolutely no arm strength whatsoever. i can’t doa pushup. [yes, i've practiced]
and i suck at running, and i will not run around my house. and be made fun of by my family.
    okay.

    • ANSWER:
Go to a modeling agency because you have the perfect height, age, and weight to be a model. People kill for that. Your not anorexic yet. So basically you don’t need to exercise or diet. I have a bmi of 18.4 and if you wake up in the morning and don’t have that little stomach that means that you get it when you eat cuz you bloat. Yes you can bloat from eating even the smallest thing, it happens to me. I also used to think that I should diet and all because I model and girls around me seemed smaller when in reality they weren’t really, people are just never happy with their bodies.

  39. QUESTION:
is this possible (my proposed weight loss plan)?
hello. i need advice. i am a college student 19, 5’3″ and currently weigh 140 lbs. i am determined to lose 25 lbs and tone up in my legs, back, stomach and arms. i’d love to reach this goal by june (basically i have 6 months). here is what i’m planning…

-exercise 5 days a week at my college gym: burning 1,000 calories a day by doing cardio (elliptical, treadmill, stair-master, etc.) and maintain a fat burning heart rate of around 140-150 beats per minute. (is that correct?)

-take several aerobic gym classes, 2 a week (fun ones such as hip-hop and kickboxing)

-strength train 2 days a week (weight lifting and machines)

    -abs 2 days a week

-stretch after every workout for 10-15 minutes. (maybe even yoga if i feel like it!)

-eat around 1,200 calories (too much? too little?)

-consume at least 8 glasses of water a day (totaling 64 ounces)

-get 8 hours of sleep a night

-eat at least 3 servings of fresh vegetables/fruit a day.

-shoot for no more than 1 sweet/junk food item a day

-weigh myself once a week, measure my hips, waist, thighs, and bust once a month to chart progress.

    * i am trying to lose this weight safely and avoid using diet pills or other diet products. i do not want to gain this weight back. i would like honest, serious advice from people who know what they’re talking about. is this plan good? am i setting myself up for failure? thank you all so much for your criticism and advice!

    plz help weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!!?
my dance is in 2 weeks and i would like a diet and/ or exercise chart/ list plz i wanna lose like 10-15 pounds
    without pills plz

    • ANSWER:
1 Dietary Balance and reading labels: watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. This involves some calculation. The approximate normal daily caloric requirement for an average male who performs light activity is 2,200; for a female, it is 1,900.Do the math. Eat less and eat at least five meals a day. Your actual caloric requirement can differ depending on your height, weight, activity level and your body’s metabolic rate.

      http://knowdiet.blogspot.com/

2 Identify your exercise. No exercise was created equal. You might like running, so run. You might like jogging, so jog. You might like stationary bikes, so bike stationary. Find the one that works best for you. Don’t pick a routine that you don’t like and won’t stick with it for long.

      http://knowexercise.blogspot.com/

3 Photos and Joining online support group : Take before and after photos. There’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends (new or old) is typically a smart move. They know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures – share them. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find one that fits you.

4 Water you waiting for If you’re not drinking enough water, your body will let you know. Thirst is an amazing sensation – quench it. If you’re not hydrated, your body won’t be working at peak levels. Most of your body happens to be water, by the way. If you’re worried about “water weight,” remember that you’re likely to retain more water when you’re not giving your body enough of it in the first place. I’m not going to dictate how many glasses you should drink, though – as that’s going to vary from person to person.

      http://knowingbody.blogspot.com/

5 Zone out. There’s a reason why people exercise to their favorite music – listening to external stimulus takes your mind off of the physical activity. That’s the secret to making “exercise time” fly or situate yourself in front of a television or video games involving exercises.

      http://knowdance.blogspot.com/

6 Sleep it off. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, If you think that you’re doing yourself a favor by sleeping less, you’re mistaken. Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important (if only for mental alertness for the following day). If you feel tired, that’s likely your body’s way of saying: “Shut your eyes, stupid!”

7 Be confident, motivated and disciplined. You need to believe in yourself! You need to always encourage yourself to achieve the goals that you have set. Learn to evaluate your efforts fairly and objectively. If you fail to achieve your target for the week, find out why is it so. After evaluating, look ahead to next week Be consistent and disciplined, and have self motivation. To lose weight effectively, you need to stick to your weight loss plan religiously so as to see results. When you have the thought of giving up, visualize how good you will look when you manage to slim down successfully.

  41. QUESTION:
    Advice about weight loss.?
I am 19 and 5’5″ and weigh 170 lbs. I have been trying to lose weight since I was 14 and so far nothing has worked. According to charts, I’m border-lining obese.? I’ve tried a good diet and exercise, but I have seen no results. I’m considering weight loss surgery, but because I’m not “obese” I’m not sure if its the right thing. I would like to lose 40 lbs. I feel depressed because of my weight and I need help! Any advice?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Breanna,

What’s your idea of a “good diet” and how much exercise are you getting? Weight loss is about balance but your diet is the biggest factor.

You MUST keep your diet clean. Stay away from fast food, processed foods, junk food and fried foods. All of these contain stuff that will keep you from obtaining your goal. Cook your own meals and read your food labels. If it contains crap like high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils or artificial sweeteners or if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, put it back on the shelf. Stack your meals with good wholesome ingredients like lean meats (fish is awesome), veggies, legumes, fruit, whole grains, natural unflavored (preferably organic) yogurts and LOTS of water. Keep an eye on your portions when eating. You can opt for smaller, more frequent meals or the traditional three square meals per day.. either way will work. Try to keep snacking to a minimum but if you must snack.. reach for fruit or some unsalted nuts or even something yummy like hummus and veggies. Now this doesn’t mean that you can NEVER have any good stuff like the occasional ice cream or cake or chips.. just be mindful of how often you eat that stuff and watch how much of it you eat. Like I said, snacking should be kept to a minimum.

When you’ve gotten that sorted out then you want to figure out an exercise regimen that works for you. Walk, ride a bike, go for a jog, go swimming, strength training.. whatever you like as long as it gets your heart pumping and your body moving and you break a sweat. You can check YouTube for loads of free workout videos to help you get started and then you can start putting your own routines together.

It’s really easier than most people think because once you get into the habit, it becomes a lifestyle and you won’t have to think twice and you won’t miss all the junk food and other bad stuff.

      Best of luck to you!

  42. QUESTION:
At a weight loss plateau, what should i do?
I was on a diet with exercise for two weeks. Within that two weeks i lost 8lbs. I ran 30 minutes everyday 5 days a week. Averaging about 1 3/4 – 2 miles a day. Consuming 1500 calories.
i took two weeks off after my grandparents came to visit and my family had to spend time with them so i had to put the diet on halt. I’m now back on my diet and continued my diet for 2 weeks now with about 30 sit ups and side crunches everyday. Instead of losing i went up 1lbs. I found it awkward and realized that i’ve probably hit my weight lost plateau.

    I am 15 turning 16, 5’7″/67 inches, currently weighing 126lbs/57kg.

What should i do to my weight lost plan to continue losing weight? I want to lose about 5-10 more pounds.

I really want to be at least 113-118lbs. Please don’t tell me this is not healthy and that its under the BMI range. I believe the BMI chart is inaccurate.

Considering you are under the age of 18 I suggest you consult with a parent or professional dietitian.

question about weight loss stuff?! PLEASE ANSWER?
i’m a fourteen-year-old girl and according to a “health chart” at my doctor’s office, i’m about three pounds heavier than i should be. i know, it’s not a big deal. but my older sister was like that when she was about my age. she was just a little too heavy and since then, she’s only gotten heavier. she never prevented it from getting worse, she didn’t try to lose weight and now she’s in bad shape. i don’t want to be like that. i need help!
but since it’s only three pounds away from a good weight (i weigh 111 pounds and i’m 5′ 2”, but should be about 108 pounds) i dont want to go on a strict diet. however, i do want to exercise because i’m planning on taking up a sport or two this summer. so i am going to bike regularly and do some sports too. if i exercise for an hour a day, will that help me lose three pounds? or do i have to diet too?

please give me your tips, opinions, suggestions, etc.

    thanks

  44. QUESTION:
Stubborn weight loss and health issues?
    I am a female in my late 20′s. 5 foot 7 147lbs.
I have a really small core frame. Like REALLY small, I have super tiny bones, and even though I’m on the tall side of average height, my inner bits, the parts of me under the fat are really small,it’s just there is a lot of fat on top of me that builds me up to look like a normal sized person. So even though I LOOK pretty fit, I actually have a really large amount of fat on my body. People NEVER believe me until I grab giant hand fulls of blubber and they go, “Woah, where the hell did that come from”

Anyway, my point is, I AM technically within the healthy range of weight for the stupid BMI chart but I know I am not healthy. I have way too much fat. My midsection at the widest part is 38 inches around and I think almost 10 of those inches are just fat.

I have been working out every day until I am drippy with sweat for 6 weeks now and have dramatically reduced my calorie intake, and begun eating healthier, more veggies and fruits organic lean meat instead of fatty safeway stuff, stuff like that.

But no change. I mean I weigh exactly the same amount, I am the same size around. I didn’t expect a dramatic transformation instantly but I expected to at least FEEL a bit better, but I actually feel like hell.
I’m more tired, more prone to infection and generally less fit feeling than before.
And I am not working out too much (20-40 mins on the treadmill a day. Between 3 and 5 mph)
and I am not eating too little and I don’t feel like I’m eating too much. On very low calorie diets my body rebels even more so and gets doubled over with cramps and makes me want to be sick. why do I feel like hell?

I’m doing everything I am supposed to and yet…
Why am I not losing any weight?
    what am I doing wrong?

I just don’t get it and I’m becoming really frustrated.

Good Way to loose weight fast?

but i have alot of weight to lose’
and yes this is based off of BMI and height to weight charts so i do know how much i need to lose to be healthy
but i have a big party to go to end of july early to mid august
so i need to lose as much weight as possible by then

for my diet im going really lean and healthy no junk food or soda or anything
Breakfast: egg whites on whole grain toast or protein shake or fruit and yogurt
    Snack: veggies with tuna
    Lunch : salad
    Snack : fruit or veggies
Dinner: whole grain pasta with tomato sauce with vegetable or salad
REALLY healthy foods then when i get back from the party to still eat healthy but maybe work on more reasonable everyday stuff like you know maybe some more carbs

And exercise cardio 4 to 6 times a week 30-45 minutes
then tone 3-4 times a week working different body parts everytime

i have about 4-10 weeks to do this
if i have about 60-70 pounds i need to lose how much do you think i can get off by doing this???

just to let everyone know this is short workout quick weight loss plan i dont need to hear about starvation mode i wont be going under 1200 calories its ok if i gain few pounds back when i incorporate more things to my diet after

    • ANSWER:
You would lose better is you doubled your calories and made a few more low carb changes. You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a “diet” Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz “Life without Bread” & Taubes “Good calorie, bad calorie” are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

  50. QUESTION:
WEIGHT LOSS — 39 days until wedding!! only real answers?
    Hi everyone!!

So I’m 5’3” & 135lbs and thats like borderline overweight according to the charts. If I was toned and in shape I wouldnt worry about the weight but I’m not! :(

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of exercises to do to lose the most amount of weight or tone up before my wedding!?

    My target areas are:
    legs- calves & thighs
    arms- biceps & triceps

thats basically it.. I need to tone up my stomach too.. but I know how to do that!!

Also, if anyone has any advice on what to eat.. that would be great! I have an issue with eating.
I’m gluten intolerant which means I cant eat wheat, barely, or rye. Wheat is in pretty much everything (or so it seems).
Also, when I don’t diet I don’t crave fatty foods, but then when I do diet I crave them alot!!

Umm… are frozen veggies good for you?? as good or close to as good as fresh ones are?

    Any advice on reducing stress??

Lots of questions i know! Sorry!!!

    • ANSWER:
Try to relax! You don’t need a lot of extra stress as you get ready for your wedding. Your finance obviously thinks you’re okay (better than okay!) just as you are, so enjoy this exciting few weeks.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way — frozen veggies are good, better than canned and almost as good as fresh. Look at a nice balanced diet – I recommend a basic diabetic diet. It’s very healthy, and flexible enough to let you enjoy wedding festivities. You can probably lose 8 to 10 pounds, which would make you a nice weight for your height.

Exercise: join a gym or women’s workout club for a month, if you can. Otherwise, get a basic workout video.

Good luck – and whatever you do, don’t crash diet – it will make you all emotional and nervous, which you don’t need.
